A West Coast Sports Powerhouse

The Apex Predators

A pioneering flag football club in Las Vegas, we are two-time national champions and reigning three-time finalists at the NFL Flag Championships. In addition, we have produced numerous state champions, US National Team members, and sent many others to college for this exciting and fast-growing sport. Above all, we develop young athletes into better people and teams into families. When you play for Apex, you learn sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play, and lessons that will guide you through life.

Leaders in a Growing Sport

Apex players learn respect, resilience, and the value of hard work. Currently, Apex has two coaches and four players on the US Jr. National Team, eight playing on athletic scholarships in college, and ten on Select US Olympic development squads. This past summer, an Apex alumna — Maci Joncich — even helped the US Senior National Team win gold at the 2024 IFAF World Flag Football Championships in Finland.

Empowering Boys and Girls

Football is the ultimate team sport where each player must do their job in order for the team to be successful. With 250,000 young people playing aross the country, flag football demands focus and decision-making in real time. Games are won and lost over a matter of inches. Apex athletes hone valuable leadership and teamwork skills that they readily apply in school and in life.

Representing Nevada on the National Stage

Apex was the first flag football club for girls in Nevada and it established a championship pedigree right away. Overall, our boys and girls teams have won 75 flag tournaments and 32 league titles since 2016. In July 2024, the Apex 18U girls team played in the NFL Flag Championship game live on ESPN and drew 200,000 viewers, more than that day's pro basketball content.

Coming Together as Family

As travel costs rise, we seek community sponsors who can contribute to our mission and offset the financial burden on parents and coaches. This season we are proud to have leading Las Vegas law firm Henness and Haight Injury Law as our presenting sponsor. Sponsors receive increased brand exposure through Apex events as well as the satisfaction of helping young athletes aim for excellence.

Apex FAQ

Do you have boys and girls teams?

Yes, we offer 10-14U boys teams and 14-18U girls teams.

Do you compete year-round?

Yes, but our peak periods tend to be in the fall, winter, and spring. At the older age groups, we make every effort not to conflict with high school sports. In fact, we encourage our athletes to partipate in other sports as well as the arts so that they become well-rounded individuals.

Do I have to try out?

Yes, team rosters are often limited to 10-12 players by age group. Tryouts are usually held twice a year, but exceptions can be made in cases where players are newly-relocated to Nevada or have made significant improvements in their games. Use the Email Us button below to inquire.

How much does it cost?

We do our best to keep club dues extremely low, but costs include player equipment, tournament entry fees, airfare, lodging, and meals when on the road. Tournaments are typically in nearby states like California, Arizona, and Colorado as well as East Coast cities like Orlando and Philadelphia. We do conduct some fundraising work at various pro sporting events that parents can choose to participate in to help lower their out of pocket travel costs.

What if I have no flag football experience?

That's ok, you can learn and we have some of the best coaches in the country. However, it may be beneficial to begin by playing in a recreational flag football league before progressing to a travel club like Apex.

How often do you practice and play games?

We practice 1-2x times per week and play up to a dozen local, regional, and national tournaments each year.
